St. Joseph High School, Aquem Alto, Margao, established in 1962 is a school recognized and aided by the Government of Goa. It is managed by the ‘Educational Society of Handmaids of Christ, Goa’ (This society is Religious based Minority Institution registered under the Societies Registrar, Panjim, under the societies Registration Act 1960 under Registration No. 409/R.S/39/73) i.e. Education to Catholic Students, but all others are admitted and treated with equal right provided they conform to the rules of the School.
Aims and Objectives
The Primary purpose of this school is to provide Catholic Education to Catholic Students; but all others are admitted and treated with equal right provided they conform to the rules of the School.
It aims to train the children to learn intelligently and to help them to develop the qualities of co-operation and service so as to make them useful and worthy citizens of our mother land.
Provision is made for the teaching of 2nd / 3rd languages as prescribed by the government and as per the needs & options of the students.
The School aim is to impart academic, physical, moral and spiritual education, with stress on Catholic formation for Catholic Students. Nevertheless, it shall respect the religious feelings and freedom, of conscience of all its Students
The course of studies of the school is arranged according to the syllabus laid down by the Directorate of Education, Goa as well as by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
At present the medium of instruction is English in the Primary Section and English in the Secondary
